It looked like all the beautiful people of Philadelphia had gathered in West Philly on May 30
The PorchFest was a perfect match for the neighborhood: gorgeous porches, wide tree-lined streets, and more than a hundred bands playing every corner. If it were a movie, it would win an Oscar for Best Cinematography. A feast for the eyes, a challenge for the ears, and the perfect place for anyone who loves dancing carefree in the middle of the street.
Hundreds of people. Dozens of porches. Live music on nearly every block. No VIP section. No expensive tickets. No giant fences separating people from culture. Just neighbors, musicians, old Victorian houses, dogs, bikes, and a whole lot of joy.
A gentle reminder that some of the best cultural events in Philadelphia happen right on residential streets. For one day, the entire neighborhood seemed to transform into one giant stage, where musicians, neighbors, and passing strangers all became part of the same beautiful scene.
